This is a ragtag collection - mixed elements mostly plucked from other, larger bodies of work created over the course of the past year or so.

I am deeply moved and connected to the intimacy of this sort of vessel - the act of placing hands (or lips) directly to stoneware harvested from the earth. I have been dreaming of the moment your body connects with this pot since the day it came into being!

Artist Bio:

“Hi, I’m Emma!

I’m a potter, collage artist, therapist, and film photographer interested in exploring the kinship between body, community and natural world.

I deeply resonate with the flexibility cultivated by ceramics as a practice, and am challenged consistently by the lack of one right way within the art form. The guiding principle I cling to in this work is that a handmade vessel should feel like kin - like a long lost (and found again) love.

I would describe my ceramics work as earthy and functional, with color palette inspiration drawn from seasonal experiences of the land that tends to me - sometimes coniferous forest in winter, sometimes the sparkling summertime shores of gichigami.”
